The album will include world premiere recordings by Italian Composer Elsa Respighi (1894-1996).
American Composter Lori Laitman (b. 1955) will be coaching the pair on her set of songs called, “Days and Nights.” It is a group of six pieces set to the poetry of Dicksinson, Browning, Rossetti and Bourdillion. Elena Abend and Tanya Kruse Ruck will be doing a live performance of these pieces at the UW-Milwaukee Faculty Chamber Music Series on April 23.
Lastly, there will be recordings by Venezuelan composer, Modesta Bor (1926-1998) who is not well-known in the United States.
The two have received multiple grants from the university to get closer to
their funding goal as well as having people reduce or waive fees, but funds are still needed to complete the project. |
