The Annual Wisconsin Chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing Auditions were held on Nov. 2 & 3 at UW-Whitewater. The competition is for all voice students, high school age through adult, but the main emphasis is for students at the university level. All UW System schools, as well as Viterbo University and Lawrence University, send singers to these auditions and this year over 350 singers competed in 18 divisions. Each division has three rounds of competition, with only the top 3-5 finalists in each division competing in the final round. UWM was very proud of the results for our students.

Jacob Baker WON FIRST Place in the Sophomore Men Division.
Leslie Lukas WON FIRST Place in the Graduate Division.
Naiza Delica WON Third Place in the Adult Singers Division.
Each of our Voice Faculty: Kerry Bieneman, Tanya Kruse Ruck, Jenny Gettel, Kurt Ollmann and Valerie Errante had students in the semi-finals and winners categories. Many, many thanks to our wonderful pianists: Jamie Schmidt, Alexey Ivanov, Naiza Delica and Michel Shestak for their fine work collaborating with our singers.
