Three seemingly disparate local arts entities - Present Music, the Milwaukee Ballet and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Department of Dance - joined their significant creative forces this weekend in an absolutely riveting production titled "FALL(ing)."
Featuring original works by four choreographers set to "new music" and performed in UWM's Bader Concert Hall, the program used subtle, meaningful differences in style and expression of movement to create a completely engrossing program.
Timothy O'Donnell (Milwaukee Ballet) created "Bird-Prince-Bird," set to "Winter" from "Seasons" by Elena Kats-Chernin. He used a seamless, fluid blend of classical and modern dance vocabularies in a powerfully condensed retelling of the "Swan Lake" story.
