The Mary L. Nohl Fellowship may be the best thing that ever happened to our art community. It offers substantial support directly to individual artists who are selected by curators from outside the region. Named for the late artist whose bequest made it possible, the fellowship is not funding for a study or research or some nebulous initiative. It is real cash for great artists, plain and simple.
And every year, the fruits of this fellowship go on view at Inova, 2155 N. Prospect Ave. This year's exhibit - the ninth - opens Friday with a reception from 5 to 8 p.m.
