Another Milwaukee fall-film staple, the Milwaukee LGBT Film/Video Festival, opens Oct. 18 with "Cloudburst," a romantic comedy starring Oscar winners Olympia Dukakis and Brenda Fricker.
The four-day festival - which is calling this year's edition its "2nd Annual 25th Anniversary Edition" - is showing at the Oriental Theatre, 2230 N. Farwell Ave., on opening night and at the UWM Union Theatre, 2200 E. Kenwood Blvd., Oct. 19-21.
Directed by Thom Fitzgerald, "Cloudburst" is a road movie about a pair of life partners (Dukakis, Fricker) who leave their nursing home to run to Canada so they can be legally married.
