Digital Dreams: An Evening with Mike Kuchar (filmmaker in attendance!)
@ UWM Union Theatre (Tues, Mar. 13)
Even though his recently departed twin brother George was a regular fixture around the halls of Mitchell, this marks legendary filmmaker Mike Kuchar's first visit to the UWM campus. Kuchar’s unique films have shaped underground filmmaking for the past 50 years, so don’t miss the opportunity to see his latest work. John Waters wrote the introduction to their memoir, reflecting: "George and Mike Kuchar's films were my first inspiration. George's Hold Me While I'm Naked, Mike's Sins of the Fleshapoids - these were the pivotal films of my youth, bigger influences than Warhol, Anger, even The Wizard of Oz." Be there--it's free! Watch a clip from Kuchar's Sins of the Fleshapoids. (Really, you should watch this.)
